No more moving, yay!

Jamey and I are all moved into Mike's house. It's great to have a dishwasher! We even got to leave our clothes in dryer last night. It was fabulous. The bedroom is a mess of boxes, and we're still trying to figure out where desks and stuff should go. I'm off next to do some shopping, since I'm sick of unpacking. I figure I'll do some hacking this evening when I get back.

My big news of the week is that I ran into Kristin, the woman who works in the Open Technology Group who got me the job interview. She said my job offer from Intel is in the mail! I'm excited, but a little worried that it hasn't arrived yet. They sent it right when my address forwarding kicked in, so it might be delayed or (worse) stuck somewhere. That would suck.

Can a building know you're leaving?

It's a silly thought that a building might know you're leaving. One of our livingroom light bulbs burned out yesterday, and today one in the kitchen burned out too. When we left the Adeline, a similar thing happened the week before we left. We've lived in both buildings for different lengths of time, so I can't blame it on light bulb lifetime. It's just odd.

Maybe it's one of those things like "the phone always rings when you're in the bathroom." It doesn't always, of course, but you remember those inconvenient times when it does. I'm sure light bulbs have burned out in succession in the apartment before. I probably just notice it more when we're going to move and it's inconvenient to put in a light bulb we're not going to use for very long.
